A photo of me in front of a bookshelf.

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion in the University Center for Human Values.

I completed my PhD in Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023. Before that, I completed my BA in Philosophy and History at St. Olaf College. My research primarily addresses the ethics of belief and its history.

While I’ve gone by “Z” since I was a toddler, my full name is “Alexander.” (My nickname was originally “Zander,” which was then shortened to “Z.”)
